Explain The Comcast Sign Up Form

Comcast needs to know if enough residents are willing to subscribe to their service before they will commit to constructing new cable lines. If enough people make the commitment to subscribe to the Comcast service, then Comcast will build the new cable lines. The sign up form is your commitment that you will indeed buy Comcast service if they proceed with the expansion into your area. This form basically states that you agree to subscribe to Comcast service for at least 2 years. You can subscribe to either high speed Internet, cable TV, or their upcoming telephone service, or any combination of the above.

If not enough residents sign up, then you are under no obligation to buy the Comcast service since the expansion will not move forward.

How Do I Contact Comcast Directly If I Have More Questions?

To contact Comcast with questions specifically about this expansion in Norwich, please click here. For more general questions about Comcast services and programming, please visit the Comcast Web site.

Where Does The Form Go After I Send It In?

Your form will be sent to the local Comcast office which is in charge of this expansion. This Comcast office will keep track of how many forms are submitted, and if enough residents sign up, the construction will begin. Note that your information is kept private and is used for internal purposes only.

Can't I Just Verbally Tell You I'm Interested?

No. Comcast needs a signed form. This form is your commitment to Comcast to buy their services if they expand into your area.

Why Comcast? Why Cable Internet?

Comcast is the only high speed Internet provider willing to expand into our area. No other providers are willing to expand their services at an affordable cost. Learn more.

How Much Does It Cost?

Please check the Comcast Web site for current rates. Construction for our neighborhood is many months away, so pricing may change from now until then. However, their current rates are indicative of what you can expect to pay in the future, as Comcast has kept its pricing very competitive.

If I Don't Know The Exact Cost, Then Why Should I Sign Up?

Comcast's rates are quite competitive, and although rates go up and down from time to time, the pricing is pretty much the same as other providers in the industry. In general high speed Internet will be priced higher than your typical dial up, and cable TV will be priced about the same as satellite. This is industry standard, and what you can expect to pay in the future.

Would I Be Paying For The Actual Expansion Construction, Or Just The Monthly Service Fees?

You would pay for only the monthly services fees, NOT the construction costs. For a detailed explanation of this, please click here.

Do I Need To Buy Both Internet & TV Service, Or Can I Buy Just One?

You can buy either Internet, cable TV, telephone, or any combination of the above. So you can pick only the service or services that you really want!

Do I Need To Pay Anything Now?

No, you pay only when your actual service is installed.

How Long Before I Get High Speed Internet or Cable TV?

Comcast projects the construction to be completed within 6-12 months (from when we reach the sign up threshold).

Why Should I Sign Up?

In a nutshell, this is your best chance to get high speed Internet or cable TV into your neighborhood in the foreseeable years. We have been in touch with the key providers, and Comcast is the only major provider willing to expand into our neighborhood. By signing up, you are telling Comcast that you want their service. Our goal is to get enough residents to sign up, so that Comcast will expand into our area.

Who Should Sign Up?

Anyone that is interested in getting high-speed Internet, cable TV, or phone service through Comcast. You should also be a resident of one of the addresses listed on the home page.

How Many Residents In Total Need To Sign Up In Order For Construction To Begin?

Approximately 80 homes from the list of addresses above need to make a commitment in order for the expansion to take place.

What If My Address Is Not Listed?

If you live close to one of the addresses listed, then submit a sign up form anyway. We will give your form to Comcast who will then decide if it is possible to expand to your address.

Does Signing Up Guarantee That I Will Get Service?

No, the Comcast expansion will only occur if enough residents sign up.

How Long Do I Have To Sign Up?

The sooner you sign up, the sooner we can reach the necessary threshold to begin construction. We hope to have the sign up process concluded within a few months.

If I Don't Sign Up Now, Can I Sign Up Later?

The bottom line is that if not enough people sign up, then Comcast will not expand into our area. So if you do not sign up now, then you will probably not get another chance later.

What If I Have A Satellite Dish?

You can continue to use your satellite dish for television, and just sign up for Comcast Internet or telephone service instead. Comcast often provides incentives or special promotions to satellite users. Currently they are running a promotion that will give you $400 if you swap in your satellite dish.
